Ho'onui e Kūkolu
The Hawaiian calendar was broken into phases of the moon which marked times for planting, fishing, building and other tasks. There are 3 phases of 10 days or anahulu. The first anahulu is named hoʻonui, the time when the moon is increasing in size or waxing and Kūkolu was the 5th night of Ho'onui, the ideal time for planting.
