The Ma'i Movement to Prevent Period Poverty!

The Ma'i Movement is a grassroots organization formed by native Hawaiian sisters, to prevent period poverty and provide access to sanitary products, safe and hygienic places to use them and the right to manage their bodies without shame or stigma. We advocate and educate by providing material and information to remove cultural stigma on menstruation.  We promote Menstrual Equality by distributing menstrual kits across all islands.  Because of our efforts, Senate Bill 2821 was passed to provide free products to all public and charter schools statewide. It is our kuleana to end period poverty in Hawaii one pad at a time.
